I get the comments all the time, “wow that wasn’t as bad as I’m used to!” and “I’m hardly red at all!” This is no coincidence, and while I can take some credit for my expertise much of this is due to the type of wax I use. Starpil is the best wax for getting smooth and long lasting results, so let me explain why I use this brand in particular and why hard wax is the way to go!
Starpil has been around for about 30 years, just like Public Image- see a correlation on the best of the best?! They create European style hair removal products in various forms. Using top notch ingredients, their wax is smooth and flexible, making the experience best for me and my clients.
Hard wax itself has many advantages over soft wax, and if you have no idea what I’m talking about here is the difference. Soft wax is a traditional style of waxing, which requires a higher melting temperature and strips to remove it. Hard wax is applied and dries on the skin, and is then lifted and removed on its own. It grips the hair firmly at the root, so regrowth is slower and more fine each time. Hard wax sticks to the hair and not your skin, making it much more gentle for the skin itself. It also has a much lower melting point, so you can be assured being burnt by the wax is never an issue!
I choose to use Starpil Pink Film hard wax and also Starsoft wax on my clients. Pink film wax is a creamy polymer blend that adheres to even the finest of hairs. It is ideal for all skin types and can be used on even the most sensitive of areas. I also love Starsoft because it is completely free of dyes or fragrance. I will choose which to use on a client by client basis, but I love that it really doesn’t matter much since both are sensitive and effective!
If you’ve been concerned because you had a reaction to waxes in the past, come try it out! I can always do a patch test on your skin to see if this wax suits you, and I’m confident that it will. Remember to come by Public Image if you have any further questions for me!
Stay Glowing!
Xx Alyssa
